Time to update you on the progress on book #22, Risen. It’s in its second edit, and we hope to release it by mid-October. So, it will be the Halloween book this year. I never know when exactly these books will come out. I write them and then leave them in the capable hands of the Red Pen and then the Beta Reader. I do work with the Red Pen answering questions and acknowledging, and working on, any problems with the manuscript. Our aim is to give the readers the best reading experience we can. I want to put you in the book with the characters. When we finish, I’ll check the word count, but I suspect this is one of the largest books, if not the largest.
I really enjoyed writing Risen and hope you will enjoy the adventure I take you and PEEPs on. I believe this is my favorite book. There are a few surprises in the book, but nothing that hasn’t been hinted at all along. The pleasure of writing a series that has spanned over twenty-two novels and four novellas, is that I have a lot of great characters to choose from. I have plot threads I can pick up or readdress. But mostly, I can further the characters’ growth and, as always, introduce you to something new and unexpected.
I’m also presently writing the next Cid Garrett P.I. book. This third book of the series will be called Tiny Houses. Cid will be rejoined with Kiki, Jesse, Faye, and the contractors of the first book. They are in Chicago, not too far from Big Bear Lake. There will be some crossover characters with the Haunted Series because of the location, but this is Cid’s book, and he’s fully capable of carrying his own investigations.
After Tiny Houses, I have the premise for book 23 of the Haunted Series worked out, so I’ll be seeing the winter in with a PEEPs adventure.
What are you plans this autumn?
