Can you believe it’s Labor Day already? I’ve had my head in my book for so long that I missed summer. Oh I knew it was happening: my electric bill went up, the window shades went down, and my lawn went from spring-green to summer brown to this wonderful, rain-fed, lush carpet of emerald. In my basement office, PEEPs and I were already at the end of summer. Mia and Murphy were dealing with surprising happenings, both paranormal and human. Yes, PEEPs, the first draft is finished!
Given Enough Rope is not a short book. It has three wonderful stories about what happens when you’re given enough rope, hence the title. As with the majority of my Haunted Series novels, the stories are intermingled and share more than just a common thread of ropes. This book took this writer on a journey, and I know you’re going to love it.
Think about it for a moment… What happens when you’re given enough rope? Will you get yourself into trouble or find yourself on an amazing adventure? Hmmm, if it were me… If I had the whole day to myself… would I be industrious and finish the spring cleaning – yes I know, according to meteorology, it’s already autumn – or would I binge watch a series? Seriously, people, if you can get Netflix and Acorn TV, do it. There are so many great television series out there! But what happens when I get to the end of my rope?
So I’ve shortened my rope. I’ve already started my read-through edit of Given Enough Rope’s first draft, and the Red Pen will get the manuscript before the fifteenth of September. Who knows, we may make Halloween this year! That may be pushing it, but in my fictional world, it would be wonderful timing. I’ll have Eternal Maze (PEEPs Lite 3.1) out in Audible, Homecoming (PEEPs Lite 3.2) as a paperback - maybe an Audible version on Thanksgiving - and Given Enough Rope out as an eBook.
I don’t care if it’s already Autumn according to meteorology; I’m sticking to the calendar – No, Murph, that the Farmer’s Almanac. My calendar is…
Have a great Labor Day for those who observe it. East Coast, try to stay dry, and Midwestern USA, try not to rub it in the faces of the world that this weekend is going to be the best ever! Have fun!
