Just a quick post to update you on my work-in-progress, the “Haunted Series” novel, “A Rose by Any Other Name,” and a few other things that may interest you. The Cin Fin-Lathen book is in the editing stage. It should hit Amazon around Thanksgiving. Thank you all for your patience on this delay. “Unforgivable Cin: An Opera in Three Acts” is a special book, dealing with a sensitive subject, and I wanted to get it right. Don’t worry, Cin’s sense of humor is intact, although, she is minus a few pairs of shoes…
Writing the “Haunted Series” is a challenging and fun endeavor. My characters might wander, from time to time, in strange directions or make controversial choices, but I do hope that I entertain you along the way. Mia has gone through many transformations, as we all do. Life is different for those of us who have gained the freshman fifteen, the childbirth thirty, and the oh-my-goodness-are-those-double-chocolate-muffins ten pounds. And when we lose those pounds, we experience change too. We can move more easily, flying up the stairs, navigating around furniture corners with newfound agility, and we receive compliments like: “Did you have your nose done, dear? You look different.”
With Mia, change is a bit more drastic. But she has Ted, Murphy and PEEPs to keep her sane. Speaking of sane, the holidays are rapidly approaching, and my hubby is preparing his dissertation titled, “Why an 85lb turkey is a great idea.” It isn’t. It doesn’t fit in the oven. I’m not getting up at four in the morning to roast the dinosaur throwback. I don’t even like turkey. The sides yes, but ever since turkey started appearing everywhere (A turkey Rueben - are you out of your mind?), I have lost my zest for the traditional bird. By the way, it’s only traditional because some women’s magazine back in our great-grandmother’s day said it was. Or so my editor tells me. (Ed. Note: Here’s one resource: http://time.com/3605527/history-thanksgiving-plate/ )
I keep sane by writing. I also internet shop and have great relationships with the myriad delivery personnel who drop packages at our door. I will be cooking the Thanksgiving feast this year, munching on bits and pieces, while watching the parades and a football game. Timing is everything.
Speaking of time, the Webguy says it’s time to collect questions for the second “Ask Alexie.” We realize there are new readers, so we will answer spoiler questions at the end. Either post your questions in the comments, or if you want to surprise me with the question, send them to alexieaaronbiz.com and label the subject: Question for Alexie. This way, you get my honest reaction. Caution: I do tend to follow Mia’s way of expressing herself when surprised.
Well, time to get back to PEEPs. Don’t stress yourselves; mistakes made during the holidays make excellent remembrances…
