Today is a very special day for me. Don’t bother to hunt down whether it is national this or international that. Today, I hand over a very special paranormal standalone book to my editor and start book 27 of the Haunted Series.
In between rewrites of The Promise and starting the next Haunted Series novel, I took the time to write a beautiful and humorous paranormal-adventure story about a love blooming between two very special people and the emerging danger to the readers of their world. It’s called The Knight of Pages. As with most everything I write, there are paranormal elements: an enchanted bookstore where the books choose the reader, a rogue evil book that entices the reader to act out their darkest fantasies and then strips them of their memories, and a very special group of people whose purpose on earth is to save books.
The Knight of Pages is about books. I use the wisdom found in over forty books to help guide my Knights of the Scrolls through life, love, and the pursuit of a book that will not stop until it has taken The Knight of Pages’s life.
This is a book for the lovers of books, book club members and readers who love to curl up on a rainy day, hide in the pantry, or sit boldly on the front porch to read. The premise came from a discussion that I had with Amanda Nooks. We were talking about choosing books, and then one of us asked what would happen if the books chose us. Of course, I took it a step further. What if the book was bad and hunted the reader down?
The twenty-seventh book of the Haunted Series’s plot has been percolating, and I’m looking forward to dedicating my time to writing it. As of yet, I don’t have a title. As soon as I do, I’ll let you know.
I hope to release both The Knight of Pages and the next book of the series this summer. One to start off the vacation reading season and the other to help with those last hot dog days of summer.
Thank you again for your encouragement!
Love,
Alexie Aaron
