Greetings!
This is my vacation postcard to you. If you missed it, I have released the 24th novel of the Haunted Series, Book of Souls. If you’re wanting a great read in between trips to the beach, getting your kids back to school, or just something to keep you company during the dog days of summer, this is the book for you.
The Webguy and I will be discussing it, hopefully, next Friday, so if you have questions, please send them to alexieaaronbiz@gmail.com before Thursday morning. Put Webguy questions in the subject line if you want him to spring them on me. Also, I will answer questions on other books too.
A few of you have inquired what I’m doing on vacation. Reading, going to the movies, the beach, and a bit crazy.
I read a lot outside of my genre. Presently, I’m enchanted with a historical book by Margaret Callow Of Wheat or War. Ms. Callow writes beautifully. She brings such a strong human element to her books. If you’re into history or want to see all but forgotten events brought to life that should be remembered, I highly recommend her.
I just saw The Spy Who Dumped Me and loved it! This movie is rated R, but if you’re not into adult buddy movies with an extraordinary pairing of two actresses, Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon, who bring such life to the screen, then give it a pass. I went with the Beta Reader and the Red Pen and I laughed so hard my ribs hurt afterwards. Warning, it is rated R and the language is real, but nothing Mia wouldn’t say when the kids aren’t around.
I’m very fortunate to live near so many great beaches, be they in the Grand Traverse Bay or on the coast of Lake Michigan. If you’ve never been to Michigan in the summer time, you’re missing out.
Yup, I’m going crazy. I have a finished draft of The Daughter of Nyx ready for editing, and I’m percolating a few Cid Garrett P.I. series plots in my head. I promised the family this vacation but how does one turn off one’s brain? Can they tell I’m writing in my head? Do they hear the keys being punched at 4:30AM? Probably.
May your mid-August activities be productive or relaxing. Turn off the news, brew a cuppa, and sit down and read. Let we authors take you away from the stress of the world for a wee bit. Consider it a mini vacation. Love, Alexie.
