Well, how do you like it now? For you winter sports enthusiasts, this is your year! You can fly down the slopes, slide around corners, snow shoe into the woods, ride your fat tire bikes along the trails, and sled… Me, I’d love to do all those things, but I’ve just finished my first draft of Tiny Houses, and I’m in the process of looking it over a last time before giving it to the Red Pen, and I really don’t have the time.
However, I did turn my head from time to time to chronicle the snowfall from my office window. I would have taken more pictures outside, but evidently my iPhone battery isn’t built for the cold, joy. I hate to dump on Apple, but you guys have slid downhill faster than my car on South Airport Drive. Anyway, I thought I’d share a few pictures as I catch you up on all things PEEPs.
Cid Garrett P.I. series:
As I said, I’m finished with the first draft of Tiny Houses, the 3rd book of the series. What does being finished with a first draft actually mean? Well, in my case, I have to read it over (again) to check for any continuity flaws, typos, homophones, and crazy crap before I hand it over for editing. Each writer has their own process. I’m an organic writer. I let the story flow, and unless I have big interruptions (like moving out of my office, waiting for it to be finished, while writing in the local library, and moving back in again) it really is the best way for me to write an entertaining story. But because of the stops and starts, I am being extra diligent to make sure the story flows.
Haunted Series:
Darker than Dark, the fourth book in the Haunted Series, is now in paperback, Amazon is presently showing it on their site. Barnes and Noble has it up, which I appreciate! Thank B&N! The cover has changed. It’s the new cover that was selected by reader votes.
I have the 23rd novel’s premise and the title, The Candle. I’ve actually had it for months, but since I only have one set of hands, it had to wait its turn. In the meanwhile, it has never been far from my thoughts. I’ll start on it when I hand Tiny Houses over to the Red Pen.
Other news:
My niece Sara Zaske, the writer of Achtung Baby, had a great interview on the Today show on January 3rd, 2018. Sara also has a great YA fiction novel called The First.
The temperature has dropped, and the snow is flying again. Time for me to get back to work. Warm wishes and hugs.
