Cid is on schedule and in its second edit. I’ve finally caught the wave of my next book after dumping the first four chapters. They just weren’t right. I’ve got to feel the story, and I wasn’t feeling it. Contrary to some reports, I don’t turn it (the muse) on like a faucet. Although water does help. Or doing something else like waiting in line somewhere. Movie theater lines are perfect, and I love summer movies.
I saw The Conjuring 2 and loved it. I would love to see more movies made with this cast and by this director. The pacing was better than the first, but I still recommend The Conjuring. In this sequel, you get a better view of the Warrens, along with a very complete story. It’s worth more than the cost of admission plus popcorn. I was the one screaming in the audience. It was wonderful.
Plotting a book in a series is a wee bit different than a new book. I already have my players, so I must first imagine what they would be doing when I put my hands down on the keyboard. Ted’s probably tinkering. Mia is still trying to figure out how to be a parent. They’re not-so-normal people doing normal things when the paranormal raises a fuss or six.
Look for Cid the first week in July. In the meanwhile, check out The Conjuring 2 or whatever keeps you out of the heat. I’ll be typing away…
