June 21st is the official first day of summer, the summer solstice for us in the Northern hemisphere. It brings back memories of childhood vacations, swimming in pools, tanning at the beach and some of the best music written blaring from radios, boomboxes and outdoor concert stages. This year I am looking forward to summer because in the first official week, I will release Never Forget.
Never Forget is my 15th novel of the Haunted Series, and it’s a long one. I didn’t start out to write a long book, but the stories within took me by surprise. My characters drove the storylines to places that astonished me. As Betty Davis said in All About Eve, “Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night.” Fear not, and believe in Mia. She goes through quite a transformation and, I feel, comes out stronger. Gone is the victim. A new woman is born.
This book will revisit old characters and introduce you to new ones. Which reminds me, I better work on my glossary tonight, oy. I frequently revisit characters. I love that they live in the same fictional world. And yes, I know it’s hard to keep track of them. (I have the advantage as they stop by now and again to steal my licorice and talk my ear off.) So, for this book, and the ones to come, I will put a glossary of characters in the back to make things easier.
Nook:
A question has arisen about whether or not I will be publishing my new ebooks to Nook. I personally feel that the readers who started with me on Nook deserve to have each new book available to them on that device. All but the first ebook of the Haunted Series for are available on Nook. The Cin Fin-Lathen Mysteries are, however, not available. I’m sorry for this inconvenience.
Rumors:
Is there another book in the works? Yes. I’m near completion of The Old House, the 16th Haunted Series novel. It too is coming in at a high word count, but I hope to have it released before the end of the summer.
Will I write another Cin-Fin Lathen book? Yes, I hope to find the right story. Thank you to all who have requested more of these cozy mysteries.
Am I a workaholic? Yes, no, yes, maybe, perhaps, not at all… CRACK! (Murphy leave me alone!) I love writing books. I love the process and where the stories take me.
What am I doing this Friday night? I’m going to see Vertical Horizon at the Oswego Prairie Festival.
Okay, I think that covers everything. Enjoy the first days of summer and look out for the announcement of the release of Never Forget, next week.
