This winter there have been many surprises. Cold temperatures, deep snow, and snow in places that don’t normally get any. For me the biggest surprise was the release of “Ghostly Attachments, Haunted Series Book 2” on Audible.com. My beta reader gave me the heads up, and sure enough, there was my audiobook. Nice and shiny and ready to be listened to. Did I know when it was going to be released? No, the author is the last to know, oy.
Ghostly Attachments is the second book of the series. Here, I take Mia beyond the hills and woods of her northern Illinois home. I reunite her with Father Santos’s group in a quest to find and rescue Sabine, a sensitive that has gone missing during bilocation. In Ghostly Attachments, I also introduce OOB or Out Of Body. This acronym is my way of describing what Mia and others do when they put themselves in a state of bilocation. In Ghostly Attachments, Mia must split her time between searching for Sabine and helping PEEPs, who have hired Mia to help them as a consultant. The paranormal activity at the Hoffman house is frequent and complex. The players visiting from across the veil are many, and they are dangerous. Mia has asked her ghost friend, Stephen Murphy, to help them. Can Mia hold it together and help all concerned? Pull up a chair, put your feet up and relax. Let Emily do the reading. You’re going to love it.
Emily Beresford
Hearing my characters in this book has been an absolute pleasure. I was impressed by Emily’s Father Santos and Angelo, but when Gerald Shem was added to the mix, I held my breath. Here were three male voices with three different accents, Haitian, Italian and Spanish. I shouldn’t have worried about Emily; she’s a pro. In 2013 she was nominated for an Audie Award and received an Earphones Award from AudioFile magazine for her work on the Multi-Voice title “October Mourning.”
Besides Emily Beresford’s many voice talents, there are other reasons I chose her to narrate my books. The Haunted Series takes place in the Midwestern United States. Emily is from Michigan, coincidently where I was born and spent the first eighteen years of my life. So when I hear the voices she gives my characters, they ring true to me.
