Blog time again! I’m in the process of writing book #20 of the Haunted Series. Because of this, my mind is in another world, so forgive me if I’m a bit inattentive here and on FB for a while. Last week, a few readers asked me: if the Haunted Series were brought to the big or little screen, who would I see playing whom. I think the most difficult thing to do is to take a character I have created and try to find a human that looks like them to me.
In only two cases have I used a real life person as stimulus for a character. Jake was loosely taken from the WebGuy’s good friend, who is notoriously vague when it comes to answering questions. I thought this attitude would make for an ironic ghost in the computer system of PEEPs. The other character is Ed, aka He-who-walks-through-time. I took inspiration from Dwayne Johnson’s (The Rock) Scorpion King character for my Superhuman.
Mia is the hardest character to cast. She’s blonde with soft green eyes, petite, and has an impressive top digit. Amanda Seyfried is pretty close. For Murphy, Timothy Olyphant is a nice fit, and in a more human size, Eduardo Verastegui would do Angelo proud.
Now for the PEEPs men. Ted has to be nerdy but still capture Mia’s heart. UK actor Gwilyn Lee is tall and thin but very strong. Strong enough to carry Mia up from the depths of a well in the novella Homecoming. Cid, Ted’s best friend, arrived bespectacled and unemployed. With PEEPs he blossomed. Brandon Routh hands down is my Superman. Burt is easy. Greg Grunberg is a marvelous fit for our sometimes flitched leader of PEEPs. Mike is a special character. I needed to find an actor versatile enough to present an ego as large as his heart, so I think I’ll choose James Van Der Beek.
Tormented Beth needs a strong actress, maybe Ellen Page. Audrey, perhaps a comedic actress; I think Allison Hannigan. Edward James Olmos for Father Santos, and for my wispy Sabine, Evanna Lynch (she played Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter).
What are your choices? Because of the type of commenting system we have presently, you can’t add pictures, but go ahead and mention the actors and actresses, and we’ll be sure to look them up. Or email me the pictures at alexieaaronbiz@gmail.com and I’ll add them next week.
